MEMBERSHIP

Who can register as a member?

Women in Games Norway is a group for gender minorities, affiliated with the games industry in Norway, and we have now also opened up for membership for our allies. Everyone supporting the mission and agreeing to the code of conduct can apply for membership.

Just a student? No problem! You just write about games but don’t make ’em? You teach games related topics? You are welcome!

Membership is free of charge.

How to join

Joining is really easy! Simply fill out this form, and we’ll get back to you and confirm your membership if approved.

Discord server

We have a kind & friendly community on Discord, you are welcome to join us there as well: https://discord.gg/vzx7aZ8kWF.

Why should I register as a member?

By registering, you make it possible for us to measure how the membership base develops from year to year, and it’s always good to have an overview over the membership count when we for example communicate with stakeholders, like government or potential sponsors. We will never share the members list without permission. Only the board will have access to the full list, and any statistics we present publicly will be anonymized.

By registering you will also get access to the closed members’ area in our Discord.

Rules

Code of Conduct

  • Be kind and respectful
    • We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.
  • Respect everyone’s privacy
    • Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What’s shared in the group should stay in the group.
  • Zero-tolerance policy on harassment
    • We want to keep the community safe, friendly and positive, and we have a zero-tolerance policy on any kind of harassment.

The code of conduct applies to all discussions, forums and events.

Consequenses of unacceptable behaviour

We expect that anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior to comply immediately. Women in Games Norway may take any actions to stop unacceptable behavior, including warnings or even expulsion from the community.

Volunteering for Women in Games Norway

Women in Games Norway is a non-profit organization. All contributions and participation are voluntary and unpaid unless something else has been agreed upon.

Thank you!
