I have been working for the student company Studio Frostbit, I am currently a student trying to figure out what the next step for me is.
Your role in the company?
My role in the company (SF) was mainly as a programmer.
Could you tell us about your day to day life and responsibilities at your company?
Day to day responsibilities I had in the company (SF) was programming and testing that mechanics and levels worked. I also made sure people took breaks and ate.
What was your role in the game project?
During the “Forgotten spirits” game project My role was mainly programmer, but I was playtesting a lot, as well as testing mechanics. I also had the main responsibility of making sure we posted to social media.
What was your favourite part of the process?
My favorite part of the Process was the planning; figuring out how the game was gonna play, how the mechanics were gonna work and how it all would look.
What was your motivation behind seeking a career in the games industry?
Joining this student company just happened, I’ve always been curious about what goes into making a game, so I joined Sunnhordland Folkehøgskole. Learned a lot from there, then got the opportunity to join their student company program. along with the others we made a game I’m proud of.
What advice would you give to people who consider joining the games industry?
Don’t be afraid to take chances, Try out various things and join in on game jams. you learn so much and not every game will be a success.
